Magnesium is one of the minerals that disappears through the horse's sweat. Not all feed states contain enough magnesium to replace the losses that occur.

A feed state that is low in magnesium can lead to increased blood pressure and reduced elasticity in the blood vessels. Which means that magnesium deficiency can be harmful to the vascular system and increase the risk of ruptures.
When is magnesium recommended?
All horses need magnesium. Extra magnesium should be given if there is a proven deficiency in the forage and to horses that train and compete.
